Adela Bravo Sauras

I am currently doing my doctorate at the University of the Arts in Berlin, in architecture and theater thanks to two grants. I have a degree in architecture from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and a Master of Arts ‘Applied Theater Studies’ from the Justus-Liebig University of Gießen for Applied Theater Studies.

In my role as founder and head of the architecture performance group No Fourth Wall, I designed, coordinated and staged several theater performances that were viewed on international stages. Some of my projects were among others in: Esposizione Internazionale della Triennale di Milano, Milano Game Festival; Instituto Cervantes Berlin, Ballhaus Ost, Acud Kunsthaus, Hebbel am Ufer 2, Edinburgh (Fringe Festival, Summerhall), Buenos Aires (Biennale Arte Joven), Bucharest (The Future is Feminine, Arcub Center, Teatru Bucuresti), Basel (Schlachthaus Theater) , Senigallia (Italy) (Rotonda sul Mare, curated by Marcello Smarrelli), and Madrid (Teatro Pradillo, Tabacalera, Sala Triángulo/Teatro del Barrio, Teatro Municipal).

My work has received prizes in competitions and grants such as the Performance Architecture Competition European Capital of Culture 2012 (Guimarães, Portugal), and the Scena Simulacro 2012 Festival, Sala Triángulo (Madrid) among others.

I have been a speaker at the International Federation for Theater Research (IFTR) World Congress and other institutions since 2015 and have written articles for the Contemporary Theater Review, Routledge.
